The book Getting to Yes was published, revised and updated in 1991. The original was written by the founder and director of the project, professor emeritus at Harvard University, Roger Fisher, together with William Ury and Bruce Patton. The ideas developed at the Harvard Negotiation Project and published in the book have traveled around the world. In addition to the tools, the method designed a negotiation process that promoted a paradigm shift, resulting in a new way of understanding negotiation processes.
